Ways to Give
By now many of you have heard the disappointing news that, after 10 years in service and more than $400M donated, Amazon will be discontinuing its charitable AmazonSmile program on February 20, 2023. Since its launch in 2013, AmazonSmile has provided customers with an easy and convenient way to support their favorite nonprofits, and nonprofits with a generous stream of revenue to support program operations. Over the years Heroes and Horses is incredibly grateful to have received more than $4,000 in donations from AmazonSmile customers.
While AmazonSmile has done incredible work for nonprofits, we thought this would be a great opportunity to highlight other ways to contribute to and support your favorite charities that are outside the normal direction of charity channels.
Pledge
Pledge is a fundraising platform that has partnered with a number of notable companies like Zoom and Evite to offer their clients an innovative way to give back to their favorite charities. Have an event coming up and plan to use Evite to invite your guests? Take advantage of Pledge’s online donation form, seamlessly integrated into your Evite set-up process!

Matching Gift Programs
Matching Gift Programs are a great way for companies to support their employees, and organizations doing good work in their communities. Does your company have a matching gift program? These are a great, and easy way to double your impact! When an employee makes a donation, they can request a matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation. It is typical that most companies match donations at a 1:1 ratio, however, some will match at a 2:1 or even a 3:1. Here is a list of the top matching gift companies! Facebook and Instagram Fundraisers
One of the best and simplest ways to contribute to an organization is through Facebook and Instagram Fundraisers. You can create a fundraiser for your birthday or a special event to support charities and causes that you care about. Facebook does the hard work and will transfer the total donations to the selected charity. Engage your followers in the good work you are supporting!

Independent Fundraisers
If you are interested in having an event, we suggest looking into hosting an independent fundraiser! These play an enormous role in supporting organizations, especially Heroes and Horses. It is incredible what our community members are able to create! The health and wellbeing of our herd, from veterinary and farrier care to proper fitting tack, is paramount to our program operations, and would not be possible without the support of many, including you. Connect with the Heroes and Horses equine program on a deeper level by making an annual or recurring investment that will help strengthen and sustain our herd.
Name a Colt program, we are pleased to offer our community the opportunity to invest annually in select naming opportunities for our new colts. Whether as a way to leave a lasting family legacy or in honor or memory of a loved one, this program is a meaningful contribution to the growth and development of the H&H herd. Choose the name of a horse who will become a close companion to future participants for many years to come.
In early 2020 Heroes and Horses launched the One-Eighty Out Campaign with the goal of establishing a permanent home base for the program that would allow for program growth and expansion, organizational sustainability, and the creation of a one-of-a-kind human development center for combat Veterans in the United States.
